My bios will not remember my settings after I shut down......why?

If your bios settings and selections are not being retained, you
should be getting a "checksum" error when you boot up. You may have
also noticed that the system clock and date are not staying current
either. This is because your CMOS battery is low or dead. It is what
retains all your bios settings, the time and date when you power off
the PC. Replace the battery, re-enter your bios settings, time,
date and reboot to verify that took care of it.
