What is S.M.A.R.T.?

S.M.A.R.T. stands for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Tecnology, a
technology that allows the hard disk to self-test and report the results
to your PC. In order to use this option, your hard disk must use the
S.M.A.R.T. technology. Amoung other features, the hard disk can alert the
operating system that a disk failure will occurr, giving you time to make
a backup and replace the hard disk.
