When trying to flash the system, a message appears: PROGRAM CHIP FAIL?
This could mean that there is some sort of write protection on the chip
that is preventing it from being flashed. Check in the original CMOS
settings for a setting that may be called BIOS GUARDIAN or FLASH BIOS
WRITE PROTECTION, and disable it.
If there are no settings in the CMOS, then consult your motherboard
manual for the location of a possible FLASH PROTECTION jumper on the
board.
This error can also just simply mean that the flash upgrade is failing in
writing to the chip. If this happens, and you can find no write
protection, then contact technical support and arrange to have a pre
programmed chip sent to you.
