Why does the system BIOS display the hard drive size as 32GB when it is much larger than that?
First, make sure that the motherboard's BIOS settings are set to
"Auto Detect" and Mode should be set to "Auto or LBA" for this drive.
Second, the drive should only have one jumper shunt. If you double
jumper the drive it will appear as a smaller drive.
Third and last, when you boot up to Data Lifeguard 11 there is an
option in Utilities called Set Hard Drive Size. You can use this
utility to set the hard drive back to the correct size.
In the screen displayed, there will be 3 entries:
Native MAX LBA
Current MAX LBA
Recommended MAX LBA
The native and current capacities should match, if they do not,
insert the number shown for Native MAX LBA into the Recommended
MAX LBA field to change the size of the drive back to the correct
setting.
Note: If you have an older computer with a processor speed of less
than about 500 Mhz, your system BIOS may not be able to recognize
the full capacity of a large hard drive.
